March Favorites 2012

What a lovely month March has been! The weather is getting nicer, flowers are everywhere and spring is finally here! I don't know about you, but whenever the seasons change I just can't wait to go shopping to get my hands on some new items. I've had to be very strict with myself though, as I've been saving my money for our trip to Japan.

But, I couldn't control myself when I went into Tory Burch a few weeks ago, and got this lovely pair of Reva patent leather flats in the color Sand. I originally had my eye on the Caroline ballet flats, but they didn't really blow my hair back when I saw it in person. This has been my favorite pair of shoes for March!

I found myself reaching for my DKNY Be Delicious perfume almost everyday, because it reminds me of summer, and obviously, I'm a big fan of the sunny seasons. Also, now that the sun is out more often, I've been wearing my Ray-Ban Wayfarers all the time.

This month, I've been loving Yankee Candle's Farmer's Market. The Boyfriend got me the biggest candle they make, and it has lasted me more than a month and a half, even though I burn it every night. Definitely getting that size again. But which one should I try next?

I've been wearing Essie's Peach Dacquiri on my nails for more than half of March, so obviously it has been my favorite nail polish.

So those are my favorites for the month of March. What has been your favorites?

Suddenly, it’s spring!

Is that fresh blossoms I smell? Birds chirping? Hints of ghostly white winter skin visible on arms and legs everywhere. Ladies and gentlemen, spring has arrived!

Oh, my beloved Spring, how I’ve missed you. It was a long, cold and rainy winter here in Taiwan. I was waiting, not-so-patiently, for your arrival. I thought about you constantly, especially when having to put on five layers of heavy clothes to stay warm, and when I had to go outside and face the elements. I longed for you as I stood freezing at the bus stop. I yearned for you when I got out of a hot shower and into the cold air in my house. But you came back, just like you always have.

If it’s possible, I’m even more thrilled at the arrival of spring this year. I love the fashion trends for this season and can’t wait to wear my pastels and lace. It really did feel like the winter was extra long this year. Not only is the weather getting nicer, people in general are nicer, too. With spring comes the sun, and the presence of the sun brings out cheerfulness and optimism in the masses.

Spring brings a new beginning. We can spring clean our homes, our lives, our thoughts and ourselves. So, here’s to the arrival of the sunny season and a fresh start! (*raises invisible glass awkwardly…) May you have a lovely and happy spring!

Top 10 Tuesday: My favorite TV Shows

I can easily get hooked on a TV show; I'm not too picky and can enjoy many genres. But lately I've really been trying not to start watching new ones. It just takes up too much of my time.

With that said, I do have my list of all time favorite TV shows. These shows I can watch over and over and over and never get sick of it.

Top 10 Favorite TV Shows:

1.  Friends
It's no secret that Friends is my all time favorite show. I started watching it back in elementary school, and used to record every episode on VHS and watch it over and over. The best gift I ever received in my life was the complete series box set.

2. How I met your Mother
I've yet to meet a person that dislikes this show. How I met your Mother is hilarious, and a close second as my favorite show.

3. Sex and the City
The movies were okay, nothing like the TV show. I can watch Sex and the City episodes over and over, and actually just recently watched the entire series again for the millionth time.

4. Will & Grace
I also remember watching Will & Grace when I was still in school, and later got the box set DVDs which I watch over and over. The characters Karen and Jack are my favorites, and that's what the show should have been called.

5. Project Runway
I think Project Runway will soon enter it's tenth season, and I still watch every episode. I love the challenges where they have to create garments out of unusual materials.

6. Criminal Minds
I know there are, like, a gazillion of this type of show, but Criminal Minds is by far my favorite. Although, I do get crazy nightmares when I watched too many episodes back to  back.

7. Gossip Girl
I remember when Gossip Girl started I wasn't really interested. I thought it was just another The OC, but I managed to get sucked into it of course. Even though some of the characters annoy the crap out of me, I do like the story lines and, of course, the fashion.

8. Saturday Night Live
Living in Asia, and being half a day ahead in time of the US, Saturday Night Live for me is more like Sunday Afternoon Not-so-live. I don't watch each episode, only if I read good reviews on an episode or if it starred one of my favorite celebrities. Molly Shannon and Jimmy Fallon will always be my favorites from previous casts, but there are some new additions that I totally love.

9. Lost
Even though many people got disinterested in Lost after getting, well, lost after the first two seasons, I still really enjoyed the show. The trick is to not watch one episode a week, but to watch an entire season in one sitting, like I did. But I must admit, I'm still not entirely sure what happened in the last season...

10. Absolutely Fabulous
Absolutely Fabulous is by far the most ridiculous show on TV, but in a good way. It is hilarious! If you don't like British humor, you will probably not like this show though.
