Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with

When I copied this "30 Days of Reflection" list from my friend's Facebook, Day 10 caught my eye immediately because of the ******* in the sentence. Well, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what that word is supposed to be. And Mom, if you don't know what it is, it's the forbidden "f" word. I really don't like that word, even though I must, shamefully, admit that I do utter it sometimes. Whether it's under my breath, in a text or when yelling at the damn, ******* computer.

So I thought, if the word is left out, doesn't it actually mean that I can change it to whatever I think it could, or should, be? Maybe not, but I'm going to change it anyway. Okay, so I'm officially replacing "******* up" with "unforgettable". (I know The Parentals are just beaming with pride right now.) Thus, this is a picture of the person I've done the most unforgettable things with.

Meet my friend, Riana. In January 2008, we packed up our lives and got on an airplane to Taiwan to start our adventure. Taiwan is the total opposite of South Africa. Everything we saw and heard was new to us. Our first month was especially full of unforgettable moments. The first time we smelled Stinky Tofu, went to a KTV, and we learned to drive a scooter (Taiwan style; which is different from regular scooter driving. It involves wearing out the horn before the brakes.)

During our first 6 months in Taiwan, we also traveled to Hong Kong. We went up the Peak Tram and out on a junk boat, and we went to Disney Land. Which, by the way, really is the most magical place on Earth. It was especially memorable to me because I ate everything I could lay my hands on, and got very sick that night.

Then of course, the most unforgettable thing we did, was going to Thailand for the first time. Bangkok was kind of scary, but the shopping was great! The islands are absolutely gorgeous, and no post card can do it justice. I love the memory of us riding on an elephant in Koh Samui.

I really think that the time that Riana and I got to spend together in Taiwan, was the time of my most unforgettable experiences. Although I've done many wonderful things since then, nothing can really top that first time Stinky Tofu experience; now THAT was truly an unforgettable, and actually a little ******** up experience.
