Day 33 - A picture of the house you grew up in

On Google Maps, this is the Street View of the house.
This room overlooks some of the backyard.
I couldn’t find a photo of the front of the house, so I snagged this one from Google Maps. (By the way, I think that the Street View option on Google Maps is one of the greatest, yet creepiest, inventions ever. Don’t you?)

When I was one and half years old, my parents moved into this house in a small town in South Africa. Twenty five years later, they are still living there.

I have many fond memories of growing up in this house. We were lucky to have a huge front- and backyard, where we could run around with our friends.

My parents love gardening and my dad even has his own vegetable garden next to the house. They have also renovated the house over the years, adding another living room, a swimming pool and they recently redid the guest bathroom, the kitchen and their bathroom.

I will always consider this house as my home, even though I live almost 13000km (about 8000 miles) away now.

  1. Aw! I actually just googled one of my old houses, and boy it sure looks smaller now that i'm bigger. Even though i'm hundreds of miles away also, it will always be the house that holds the most childhood memories <3

thanks for the comments princess <3

    have a lovely weekend!

  2. Love this house with all its "kakkies en poepies " with all my heart. Between these walls are a lifetime of memories, laughter, love and a couple of tears.

  3. @Kmoomie Mamma, ek wil nou dadelik huistoe kom, ek verlang!!! <3

  4. It's very lovely.

  5. how lovely is that?! your home place is always so special.

  6. That is a cool looking house! A bit of a different shape to the usual.

Also regarding the creepiness of the google street view, I saw a news article yesterday how the google camera had captured someone falling over and faceplanting. I had a good laugh, and then felt mean and creepy!

  7. It's so nice that your parents still love in the same house, it must be nice to go home too :-)
And the street view is totally creepy, but totally amazing too!

  8. I love your house! I like the interior.
