Day 85 – A picture of your favorite quote

I just love this quote, because it totally sums up my outlook on life. Nothing annoys me more than people complaining all the time. There must be something good in your life? If not, then you yourself should make a change, and not wait around for other people or situations to change. We are mostly in charge of how good our day will turn out to be.

I like to refer to myself as a "realistic optimist", if that even exists. I know that everyday can't be perfect and good. But every morning when I wake up, I still expect the day to be perfect and good. And it usually is.

We have a lot to be thankful for. I know I do. Just the fact that you're reading this post means that you had an education and can read, that you have access to the internet, which means you can afford it at your house, or you have a job where you can go online. You're already so much luckier than millions of other people, who don't have this luxury.

It's easy to only notice the bad things in your day, and before you know it, your thoughts and energy are consumed by these negative things. After reading The Magic, I now make a conscious effort to list the ten things I'm thankful for every day. I've been doing this for a while, and it's amazing that I can still name ten new things every single day.

What's your favorite quote?

  1. I agree with you. A lot of people could find something good in their day, or even make the entire day seem good, if they tried. There are people at my college who complain about being "poor" and having hard lives. Then they pull out I-Phones and leave the campus in luxury cars.

I like this quote from Kurt Cobain: "Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are."

  2. One quote I like is by William G.T. Shedd ~
"A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for"
