Shoe Review: TORY BURCH Reva ballet flats

It's been a while since I've done a fashion review, hasn't it? I was inspired to write about the Tory Burch Reva ballet flats after receiving so many questions about them lately.

Any ballerina flat-lover worth her salt owns, or wants to own, a pair of Tory Burch Reva flats. And for good reason! They are available in many different colors and they can be dressed up, or down, depending on the occasion.

Available colors

I bought my first pair of Tory Burch Reva flats in November 2009 at the Tory Burch store in Hong Kong. At that time, I've been drooling over them for a while, but I was quite hesitant to buy them because I read so many mixed reviews on them. But, I "needed" them...

At the moment, I own two pairs; the black Nappa leather ones with the gold logo medallion and the nude/sand color patent leather ones, also with the gold logo medallion.

Sizing

Good thing I tried them on, because just as most reviews online had stated, these flats do run small for most people, and you will have to buy a half or full size up. I usually wear a US size 7.5 and I got my Reva's in a US size 8. The shoe is quite narrow, but after some wear it will stretch out a bit.

Fit

I'm not a huge fan of the back of the flat, with the elastic band, probably designed to avoid chafing your ankle, because it will actually make the flats slip off my feet sometimes. I don't know if that happens to anyone else? Also, they were extremely uncomfortable in the beginning and I had to wear them quite a few times to break them in properly. But beauty is pain, right?

Quality

I really can't say anything bad about the quality of these flats. The leather is soft and the medallion logo have stayed put even after 1.5 years of wearing them, and wearing them often.

Price

When I bought my first pair of Reva's, the black Nappa leather ones with the gold medallion, they were under US$200. Now, you can buy the same pair for US$225. The patent leather ones are a little more expensive at US$235.

Final thoughts

I personally love the Tory Burch Reva ballet flats. I think they are beautiful, elegant and classic. I take very good care of my shoes and wear them often, which makes it worth the price. My pair of black Nappa leather Reva flats has become a staple in my closet, and I'll repurchase them one day when I've worn out my current pair.

Other Tory Burch purchases:

Tory Burch Sophie Wedge (US$295)

Tory Burch Emmy flat thong sandal (US$195)

I've also purchased the Tory Burch Sophie wedge in black with the gold logo medallion, and the Tory Burch Emmy flat thong sandals in tan. With these, I also had to buy them in a half size up.

  1. Love it! 100% of how I feel about all of these shoes as well, and Sophie is so comfortable to wear after hours of my feet in them. Great job!

    1. Thanks, girl! I love these wedges, too. I really dislike wearing heels, so these are perfect for me for more formal events.

    1. I hope you'll be able to purchase them one day, as they are really worth the money. I've had mine for so long and they're still in mint condition.

Keep your eye out for annual sales and you might just get lucky with the price. Nordstrom and Shopbop.com have a few sales a year where you'll be able to purchase a pair for up to 20% off. Good luck! :-)

  3. I found you on Lauren Conrad's site and I have to say, I loooove your blog. I wish I had the money to buy ALL the things I see on here. But I don't. So I resort to drooling over a keyboard.

Let me know if you ever want to collaborate or guest post for me! My blog could use more fashion, I think.

  4. Always wanted a pair of TB flats, but I feel like for the price they shouldn't be painful to wear. I love how they have them in an assortment of colors though. For now I will admire them on other ladies :).

    1. I was also a little disappointed when I got them and they hurt my feet. For that price, they shouldn't hurt at all! But, they did come around and now they are very comfortable. :-)

The very first time I saw a women wearing a pair of these I knew I was going to get a pair. I got my first pair November 2011 and today I have 7 pairs. After in got the basic black and brown pairs the fun colour were added to my collection. This is my collection so far. (You might have to cut a paste the links)

    2. Thank you for your kind words. Blue is my favourite colour so naturally I had to get a few blue pairs after I already had the iconic classic black leather with gold and silver medallion. My next pairs (which I'll be getting later this week) are the Irish Charcoal snake print Revas. http://www.toryburch.com/snake-printed-reva-ballet-flat-22138001.html?dwvar_22138001_color=042&start=44&cgid=shoes-flats

And these ones in the vanilla cream. http://www.toryburch.com/reva-ballet-flat-51138200.html?start=31&dwvar_51138200_color=422&cgid=shoes-flats

What is your next pair going to be???

  6. Shoes come in so many styles and options and come in and out of fashion so much that it is hard to keep up with what is in and what is out. Flat shoes seem to always stay in style; it may be the comfort factor, and they make it easier to navigate through the day.I find this website for Best Flats With Best Arch Support you can visit this site.
