South Africa, here we come!

I can barely type this post right now, as I'm literally shaking from excitement. Either that, or this cup of coffee I just consumed was pretty potent... The source of my exhilaration, you ask? Well, duh, where have you been!? We are leaving for Africa today!

The Fiancé and I are on our way to South Africa for a 3-week summer vacation, leading up to our Big Day on February 1st. We are beyond excited, as you can imagine. We even belted out our own rendition of "going to the chapel and we're gonna get married..." this morning. I know, we are so cool.

Taipei City tried to keep us here with its beautiful sunny day, but we know better; It will probably rain and be cold again by tonight. Nice try!

The Fiancé arranged for a nice car to come and pick us up and take us to the airport. Not too shabby. I like how this trip is starting off! And we are excited to fly with Singapore Airlines, as they had just upped their baggage allowance to 30kg. Hell yeah! Now that's a lot of biltong and sweet chili sauce that I can bring back after our vacation...

I'm sure the next three weeks are going to be a whirlwind for us, but I'm so ready to spend time with our families and friends, do the last minute preparations for the wedding, and to just finally marry the man of my dreams!

I'll try to post some updates here on Pretty.Random.Things. while in South Africa, but you can also follow me on Instagram (@_liesl_) for daily photo updates of our adventures.

Peace out!

  1. South Africa is amazing, just make sure not to go to places you don't know, you must watch out because there are dangerous places. But you will love that country because it is beautiful :-) I lived in Johannesburg for 3 years....something else

    1. Don't worry, I'm South African so I'm aware of all the dangerous spots. :-)

  4. How wonderful! Congratulations! One of my friends has visited SA several times and loves it there! It is definitely on my list now :) The picture in this post is so beautiful as well! Sometimes there is nothing more fun than singing something silly with your other half. I have done this many-a-time with my hubby. Typically road trips are involved. :) Congratulations again! :) -Alexandra

  6. It's been a while since I last stopped by, but my goodness I'm so happy for you guys! Not only am I jealous (DJ has definitely NOT popped the question yet), but I'm super excited for you. I can't wait for my wedding day. We just want to elope, but it will be our special day regardless, and I can't wait. Let me know if you want to do a guest post again soon! I'd LOVE to see some of South Africa on my blog, honestly. :)
